Swamp Fox Enduro Coming Up
The 34th Annual Swamp Fox Enduro is scheduled for next weekend, April 30th. The registration form is posted on the SETRA web site. There’s also a pit bike race that sounds like a lot of fun (I may bring my son’s TTR-50!). Here’s an exerpt on the pit bike race:
Bring your pitbike for a short course race, Saturday after the Junior awards. Stock and “Run whatcha Brung” classes. Sorry kids, adults only! Elimination/Heats format, “laiddown” 4 strokes only. Who will start the Swamp Fox, with the pride of already having whipped the competition?
Best Bike For Woods Racing
Hey, I’m in the process of evaluating new bikes for GNCC racing. My current thought process is focusing on either the 200 or the 250 XC (keep in mind I’m a 5′6″ 240lb rider), but I haven’t ruled out a YZ250 modified for the woods. If you’ve been though this process I’d love to hear your thoughts (Just click the comment link below). If you are looking at the new KTM XC’s, check out this article on DirtRider.com.

Loretta Lynn’s Course
I was looking for some information on the Loretta Lynn’s course, and I did find some on the GNCC web site tracks page. Here’s an exerpt:
“The soil is sandy, so the place gets whooped out. Some sections are covered in small, shale rock, probably not tire-cutting stuff, but enough to ruin your traction, so be careful. And most of all, be in shape: the whoops and the heat and humidity indigenous to this area can sap your strength. Drink up all week to prepare for this one.
A national-level motocross track is also included in the lap. This is the same famed motocross track that hosts the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships for bikes and the ATV Dirt Days, the final round of the ATVA National Motocross Championships for ATVs. It’s a great track, but the jumps are tamed down a bit for the GNCC. No big doubles here, just rounded table tops, so don’t worry if you’re not a motocross ace.”
